The center of the base consists of a 1/4″-20 attachment thread that is designed specifically to connect to the bottom section of select Manfrotto monopods. This thread is directly connected to a “3D” fluid cartridge that facilitates smooth pans and tilts from a single axis. The cartridge may be locked vertically to isolate movement to only the 360° panning axis, allowing for smooth, level, uninterrupted rotation.
While engaging the vertical lock may allow the monopod to stand, it does not support free-standing function and should not be left unattended when not in use. The three feet which extend from the center of the base feature a simple folding mechanism that allows them to retract up and around the base when not in use.
This design allows the base to remain compact and portable while still attached to the monopod and allows for easy travel and storage of your gear.
